Going to Town

I now have a nice little collection of bits and pieces... some are in a better finished state than others... but I wanted a "group" shot.

There are several gangs of Orlocks in there, some civilians, some ratskins and even a set of arbites.

More bodies

Yet more bodies for the Orlocks... another batch ... this time with some random additions, some gribblies and even some escapees from some fantasy setting.

This one must have quite a punch!

I love a dual wielding pistol gunfighter type!

Hmm.. not quite your normal Necromunda inhabitant

These are a quick trial... from Wargames Atlantic... just to see how they might fit the Imperial Guard vibe..

Always got to watch out for the little gribblies down in the sump...

Or even the mighty big ones!

A Place to Live

So you also need a place to live... you know.. somewhere to count the creds... crack open the crate you .. ermm.. borrowed... and live the high life.

These are actually formed from a set of "containers" but instead of using the bases I glued them directly onto the large base. I used some of the then spare walls as extra walls (indeed I have a couple left over) and the rest is bits and bobs that are spare from the sprue or things out of the bitz box.

Everyone needs fuel... water... promethean... whatever keeps you and yours going through those long dry months.

All in all, this lot, plus the three "shops" from the earlier posts, have cost me around £20 in total, including delivery, from eBay.

A Place to Shop

Everyone needs a place to shop...

An aerial view shows the back of these three 'establishments'

Here we have the front of them, along with the 'added' extras that can be removed to adjust the level of gubbins on show and in the way of line of sight.

I will have to get a better picture of the inside... this will be the 'Docs'. There is a medical seat to go in here from the objective box set. Is the ratskin asking or demanding treatment here?

This is the 'All In Shop' which caters for a wide range of needs.

This is the local 'Guns R Us' with its own resident shell shocked shopkeeper.

Getting Grubbier

Now they are starting to take shape.. this is before making them very grubby and dirty with a big wash ...I want them to seem very run down and rusty and dirty and muddy... I cannot imagine they would be pristine shops in the depths of the underhive.

On Display

My painting skills are very limited but occasioanlly some of the models might almost reach a tabletop standard.

I wanted to think about how to store and present them. We do not have room in the house for the standard 'Detolf Solution' so I looked around on Ebay and saw some display cases for an almost reasonable price.

Finding some air dry clay around I started to make a base for them

The base has since been washed to within an inch of its life so I will take a picture with the final look.

I am happy that part of the gang is now protected from grubby fingers.

Taking Shape

The buildings are now taking shape. I have slowly added some shelving, some counters, some junk and lots of gubbins and bits everywhere.

I have knocked up a shop keeper with sort of bionic / damaged arm and some weird helmet (ok ok.. it is an out of scale WW2 helmet)

I have PVA'd every surface to within an inch of its life and I found some black sand in the garage so I have sprinkled that on everywhere.

Escape hatch in the bottom (it IS a weapons shop... you never know what sort of undesirable customers you might get)

Broken up the surface with all the offcuts and sawn off bits lying around after cutting down the sprues for the containers to make the stuff.
Plenty of old Jenga blocks with some bits make some nice makeshift crates.

It is taking shape now.
