Drop Troops

 

These troops are actually 3D printed. I bought these from Temu and they were around a tenner for the lot (with another deal going on).

They were very much worth the money and I think they fit in very well with the Imperial Guard theme. 

Space Marine Fleet

 I recently sold some Oldhammer stuff on eBay and used some of the proceeds to purchase a 3D printed Space Marine Fleet for Battlefleet Gothic.

These are some early painting shots

I bought 32mm MDF bases from my favourite supplier on eBay and some 3mm acrylic rods from Amazon for a few quid. It worked out quite easy to build the bases with the magnets I already had. The real hardship was trying to get the tiny magnets to glue onto the rod and not my fingers!

These are to be painted up in the same scheme as my Dust Wolves Space Marines.

Tanks! (a lot)

 I have a fair few Imperial Guard tanks. There are a lot more Leman Russ' not pictured here.

These Chimeras were originally painted over 25 years ago! I dug them out to give them some touch ups, some washes and shading and some mud effects.

The 'Leman Russ' above is a Temu version (literally) and was excellent value for money and I think fits in just fine.

I finally glued down the metal Hellhound bits and put it together (although the Basilisk still slides out for ease of storage).

I actually put some decals (original ones!) on all the tanks for the first time as well.

Legion(ish) of the Damned

 These were actually excellent resin models bought online for a very good price.

They were excellent value for money and much more in line with the new Primaris size and style. 

Combat Patrol - Chaos

 Normally I am not interested in having a Chaos army of any stripe, but with this offering from the Combat Patrol magazine I decided to keep hold of them and paint them up.

There is also a Terminator squad

Combat Patrol - Eldar

Also as part of the Combat Patrol magazine is this little set of Eldar.

This is made up of a Guardian Squad with a Farseer, 

some Jetbikes,

some Wraithguard, 

and a Wraithlord.

The Harlequins are NOT part of the magazine offer, I picked them up as a treat for myself when on holiday.

Combat Patrol - Orks

 Now normally I would not buy or play Orks at all, however this little lot came with the Combat Patrol magazine and to be fair, I did enjoy painting them up.

A pretty simple scheme to distinguish between the 'boyz'... one yellow on top and blue on bottom and the other blue on top and yellow on bottom.

The boss was a good model to paint up and gave me a chance to try something different.

The scenery in the background actually came dirt cheap from Temu.

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Kind of both really...

 

Part of the excellent Halfling Army from ttCombat these birdmen satisfy that itch from the original Dogs of War army.

Imperium - Dusty Necrons - 001

 So this would never be my choice of army but I thought, it comes with the magazine, let us give it a go

Again, a nice simple and very quick paint scheme... slap on the metal.. .give it some touch colours... black wash on metal...

I like the bright blue and purple as a tone to complement the metallic areas

Basic bases again with the crackle type paint I originally got for my Admech

They come up reasonably well for such a basic paint job

The rust effect Vallejo paint also helps here 

Except these... these.. these I hate.. the worst blooming models I have ever had to put together...so fiddly...

Imperium - Dust Wolves 001

 So yes... I subscribed to the Imperium Magazine.

Dust Wolves - not Space Wolves... Dust Wolves... a desert type planet origin with large dust storms obscuring most of the surface.

A simple paint scheme similar to my original space marines I did over 20 odd years ago (Dark Templars)

Using the decals from Space Wolves for a wolf image

Basic bases at the moment using some crackle type GW paint

Some toned down muted colours with subtle highlighting

Going to Town

 I now have a nice little collection of bits and pieces... some are in a better finished state than others... but I wanted a "group" shot.

There are several gangs of Orlocks in there, some civilians, some ratskins and even a set of arbites.

More bodies

 Yet more bodies for the Orlocks... another batch ... this time with some random additions, some gribblies and even some escapees from some fantasy setting.

This one must have quite a punch!

I love a dual wielding pistol gunfighter type!

Hmm.. not quite your normal Necromunda inhabitant

 

These are a quick trial... from Wargames Atlantic... just to see how they might fit the Imperial Guard vibe..

Always got to watch out for the little gribblies down in the sump...

Or even the mighty big ones!
